Allegan County, located in western Michigan, operates a three-court judicial system housed primarily within the Allegan County Courthouse. Residents, attorneys, and members of the public regularly need access to court records for legal proceedings, background research, property transactions, and family matters. This guide covers the practical steps for locating and obtaining court records maintained by Allegan County’s circuit, district, probate, and family courts, as well as related records held by the County Clerk’s Office and Sheriff’s Office.
